scared stupid

I had sex with a sex worker and recieved unprotected oral followed by sex using a condom the whole time. Got tested at six weeks at my doctors office and came back negitive the next day.  Am I still at risk.  I had a mild fever  a couple of days after being tested of about 99.0-99.0 that lasted 3 days  With loss of appitite and weight.  I am convinced I have hiv and think about it every minute of the day.  I have developed such anxiety I can barely get out of bed.  I also noticed swollen lymph nodes and now I have a very very mild dry or sore throat.  Could I still be at risk.  Thanks

Thanks for the encouraging advice.  I feel much better.  Although I still have a mild sore throat that feels kinda scratchy and makes me want to clear my throat all the time and get worse when I eat. And am still feel kinda tried all the time.  My appetite is still low and I have lost about 12 pounds. And noticed  I had some of that white stuff just on my tongue.   I know i was dealing with some major anxiety, because thinking I had Hiv consumed all my thoughts all the time.  I wake up thinking about it and go to bed thinking about it.  I was definitly really depressed. I had no desire to anything I used to love to do like ride motocross bikes, see friends ect.  Can the mind really be this powerful to create a all these symptoms or could I have another illness.  I never noticed any of the symptoms until started looking into Hiv symptoms on the internet after I got a weird  rash on my arm that looked like tiny red dots that were complety flush and not bumpy at all.  I was also on some major antibiotics like CIPRO,BACTRIM DS for months for epididimitus  I got from trauma on a dirt bike crash.  Due to pain from that injury a couple of months later I had to go to the emergency room and was given morphine,  and then a day or two later I came down with that rash which was not itchy.  Like I said at first about seven weeks in,two weeks after the rash I got a  mild fever, loss of appetite, weight loss, a little diarrea lack of energy.  I got tested at 6 weeks and came back negitive.  Should I still be worried   or is this all anxiety and depression.  I was also prescibed oxycodine and hydrocodone for the pain and did get some suicidal thoughts while taking the pain killer and all the other stuff. Am I sick, crazy or just over medicated.  I also am married with two small children and keep feeling guilty that I have put them in danger.  Thanks again for listening.

Your symptoms may be "Psychosomatic", aka, being caused by the anxiety and stress of living with the fear that you think you have HIV. It's very unlikely that you have it, and if you continue to think that you do, the symptoms might just get worse.

I have had my share of HIV related anxiety, only to find that I am not infected. Plus, there are very few (if any) documented cases of HIV infection through oral sex.

You should read this journal from nursegirl6572, I believe it would help your anxiety a lot: http://www.medhelp.org/user_journals/show/88524/HIV-THE-FACTS
From the journal:
"First, the virus isn't present in the saliva, making infection impossible for the receptive partner (the person receiving oral sex).  Secondly, for the person GIVING oral sex, THEIR saliva contains enzymes that inhibit the virus, should they be exposed to infected genital secretions.  Secondly, again, the virus has been exposed to the air and elements, rendering it inactive in an oral situation.  This debate will continue, but again, for anyone worrying about an oral 'exposure'...think of the facts.  If it was truly a risk, there would be newly reported cases ALL the time."

That was non risk activity, not warrant for testing.

I am convinced that you don't have HIV cuz you can't have that after whatever that you have done. Oral sex is  a no risk activity and Protected sex .. thats using the condom is equally safe.

The symptoms that you have are anxiety induced. mild fever ..mild soar throat all point to the same thing. Its the fear of HIV that overwhelms all logic. Trust me.. you don't have it and you don't need to get tested..
