Paranoid about HIV

Hello Doctor, I had an unprotected sex with an escort a week ago. Later on I have asked her if she has any disease and how often she gets her blood work done. She said She had her blood test two weeks ago and no need to worry about any diseases. I don't know whether to trust her or not but I want to know what are the chances of hiv transmission? Thanks

you can have a duo at 4 weeks or an antibody test at 6 weeks.  at those time, either of them will give you a very good indication of your status.

follow up at 3 months to get your conclusive result

No you should test at 6 weeks and follow it up at 12 weeks!

Unprotected sex is a risk for hiv!

Since it is a one time time exposure the odds of you contracting hiv is low.

BUT GET A TEST AT 6 WEEKS AND FOLLOW IT UP AT 12 WEEKS.TESTING IS MUST.

Good luck!!!!

You can obtain your conclusive negative test result 3 months post exposure.
