Hey Jon,
I had that stress done because of chest pains while running. I would also feel short of breath at rest.
I really tried my hardest during the test, but wasn't able to go any further. I must admit that I was out of shape during the test though. Still, for being 20 years old and 135 pounds, I as well as the doctor were expecting better results.
I'm especially concerned with my max VO2. 26.6 is pretty terrible.
I'm freaking out because the report said that my results are consistent with someone who would have heart failure.
A SBP of 150 is about right for 7 - 8 METS. I personally exercise at 8 - 10 METS and at 7 METS my SBP is usually around 140. Much depends on your conditioning. When I reach my peak METS of about 12 - 13 my SBP will be around 160, but I'm 54 years old and exercise every day. A 20 year old should be able to work out at that rate with no issues. Did you exercise to your peak or did you still have more reserve left? My concern would be more about only achieving 7.6 METS, that's not bad but should be much higher for some one your age.
Can you tell us why you needed a stress test at 20? That may help give us a better perspective on the issue.
Jon
I had a CPET [Cadiopolmunary exercise test] done, and my results were not good. Here they are:
Peak VO2 (ml/kg/min) was measured at 26.6
METs at peak was measured at 7.6
Peak O2-Pulse (ml/beat) measured at 9
AT (ml/kg/min) measured at 14.1
It depends on the level of exertion you were acheiving. Do you know what you max heart rate and METS were?
Jon
anyone? D:
If it matters, my resting BP was 98/70
