rapid heartbeat

My 19 yr old daughter runs on a treadmill, and her heartbeat goes up to 180, with no other symptoms.  Is this too high? Should I have her checked out?  We have a family history of heart disease.  She is healthy, although has fainted 3 times, not when exercising.

What's the equation - 220 minus your age, then take 80% of that for the maximum heart rate. Using a calculator I get about 160 bpm for her max. And I don't think the max is supposed to be held for a long period of time. Most folks work out at 60%.

I don't think it's too high if she is a runner, and healthy. the fainting should be checked out.

That is too high even while working out. Is she pushing herself hard on the treadmill or jogging along at a reasonable pace? And fainting isn't good either. Do you think that was related to anything else like being overheated, dehydrated or sick? She should see the doctor and explain what's going on. They may ask her to wear a heart monitor for a day or two.
