If I may say it...

I now this not something that should go in the forum, but should be addressed to the administrator of it. However as I do not see how to do that, I just write it her with the hope that he can read it.

In my view, the new interface for the forum are not user friendly and discourage participation.

The main issue is that only shows author and date of the last 2 entries of every thread. That means that I no longer have an indication of how "hot" the discussion is. Note that the total number of entries it is not an indication since they can be very old.

Also, if you write in several threads, it is difficult to remember which ones your are participating in to be able to continue the discussion. If as before we see the last 5 or 6 entries, the chances that you can see your name in there are much higher than now, only a couple of answers and you loss the clue.

Is there any possibility to show more authors of entries for every thred?

Thanks.

Jesus

I think those are excellent adjustments. There seems to be plenty of blank space below the threads so I would think we could have more on each page. Thanks for letting everyone know.

Hi there -

Just got an update from Engineering and Development.  We have no timelines yet for these changes, as the work is just starting, but keep in mind some are very complicated.

Our highest priority changes are:

*  There will be a preview of each thread, with a couple of lines showing in the main thread listing.  (We have already shared this one.)

*  More responses will show in the thread list, so instead of showing the most recent 2, it will show more.

*  We will be increasing the number of threads per page in the thread list.

This is not likely the total list of changes, but this is what we know for sure now.

Hi everyone -

We will be bringing back the one or two line thread preview that we had in the past.  It's a pretty complicated change, so it will be at least a few weeks until we see it.

I haven't heard of any other changes, but will keep you all updated when I do.

I'm glad to see I'm not the only one, but thought maybe it was just me with my horrible memory and bad eyesight...

I like some of the new changes; like the top but it seems a bit "narrow" in the actual posting forum part now which makes it difficult to read a full sentence at a time now.

I'm not a big fan of change but I know it happens. There have been other changes made over the years to the forums and I've adapted. I know I can do it again. Overall I don't think the format is too bad. I do miss seeing more responders names to the side. I've also used that to see if I've participated in a thread. My memory isn't as great as it used to be so looking at the thread title may not remind me that I responded.

There is much discussion going on with MF management, we have been looking at this change for many weeks and possible changes are being looked at. Personally, I like the new changes, but they will take some time to get used to. The issues that have been mentioned here have been passed along to the MH team.

I agree with you. But then I am an old doggie that doesn't like to learn new tricks.

I have to agree. I've opened a few posts now thinking "this sounds interesting" only to find I've already been there.
