Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction

Hi my mom (62 years) undergone a health checkup after feeling some breething problems and they have diagnosed the following complaints 1) ECG - Slight ST-T variations in V4-V6 2) Treadmill test - TMT borderline positive for inducible ischemia 3) Echo - Left ventricular diastolic dysfunction but left ventricle systolic function is normal. 4) High cholesterol Total cholesterol - 294 and High BP

One cardiologist suggested to go for an angio to identify any further blocks, and we went for second opinion and they said since the pumping is normal, she need not go for an angio but take Clopid 5mg along with cholesterol and BP tablets. She is recently diagnosed with diabetes which is also just borderline and not very high.
Please suggest what should we do now? Should we take her for angio or take Clopid tablet?

Drat! I knew I should have reread this before posting it.....I meant to say "being affected" instead of saying: "NOT being affected".

You may be right about all of that vienna, BUT she has also been diagnosed with diastolic dysfunction. That function should also be considered in doing the angio to see exactly what that function is like and if there are areas in the smaller veins and capillaries that are not being affected. Just because the coronary arteries are normal does not mean that the rest of the blood system is okay. She is also borderline ischemic, that means she is possibly having a problem with the blood flow. I would still go after the angio. It is better to be safe than sorry.

I would go with the pills.

her second cardiologist said:"since the pumping is normal, she need not go for an angio ..."

PUMPING IS NORMAL!

Angiograms are generally safe but there are also risks. Bleeding, infection and serious complications, such as heart attack, stroke and death can occur, even if rare.

The million dollar question. Due to her symptoms, if it was my Mother, I would want an Angio done. I would be wondering every day just what condition her arteries are in. I'm a firm believer that until you have all the facts, how can you determine the correct treatment. The angio could reveal that medication is the best answer, or perhaps a stent or two could make her much more comfortable without the medications. Just my opinion.
