Hi everyone !
I came to this forum to hope that maybe someone here will find my story similar to their and/or will be able to shed some light on mine. So my heart related problem started around February 2015. Prior to this date I was happy 21 years old international student partying, drinking, studying - basically having fun person. No health issue whatsoever. But that month I went to the doctor to get some medicines for my sore throat. And they decided to check my pressure. Out of nowhere it was 166/100 with pulse around 100 after resting. They got me scared and they decided to put me under observation - check my pressure regularly and so on. From that moment on I started living in constant fear of having a heart attack. Then I developed tachycardia and sinus arrythmia which just made my fear even bigger. They gave me propranolol 10mg to control it as well as xanax to control my anxiety. Both failed so they decided to start giving me concor 5mg daily. I also changed my diet and lifestyle. I never smoked, I quit drinking, started exercising more often. ConCor kind of controlled my symptoms in terms of heart - my pulse got back to normal I got rid of sinus arrythmia, pressure was around ~140/70. It was pretty much ok until I got atrial fibrilation out of blue - of course ER, another dose of Propranolol 10 mg and again extremely scared. I developed some sort of panic attacks - chest pains, suffocating, sweating, palpitations, lack of appetite. And then my doctor decided to schedule echo - to show me that my heart is fine and put me in ease. Everything turned out to be fine, just small mitral valve prolapse. Nothing more. It relieved me a lot plus also my psychiatrist told me to start taking escitalopram which I guess also worked since all the symptoms disappeared. Pressure was still around 135-140. Still under concor. But I was kinda free
And here we go again. I went back to my country for the summer. Relaxed like never before, no problems, I almost forgot about everything. I stopped taking escitalopram ( which might have been not a good idea) since I felt fine and ConCor reduced dose. Then I went back to Taiwan to continue studying and again I started haing issues. To basically sum it up I got scared again - elevated cholesterol ( LDL: 145, HDL 32 Triglyceride 100), pressure 140+. I also developed lots of PACs ( 2000+ within 24h period). Doctor switched medicine from beta blocker to ramipril and also gave me rytmonorm ( propafenone_)150mg 3 times daily to get rid of PACs and bring back my sinus rhytm. I decided to put myself back in cardio shape ( since I've been going to the gym) but I developed sever pain in the middle of the chest which goes back to the back. It goes away quickly after I stop running but ofc it made me scared. Doctor says it's not an angina but I'm not convinced
What should I do ? I'm tired of constant fear of heart attack. I had many EKGs, hollter EKG, echo, treadmill test done and nothign except PACs and one atrial fibrilation attack came back. Should I focus on mental health and get back to escitalopram ? Or keep looking for heart problem ( I was even considering CT coronary scan but my doctor said there's no need since I'm so young) ? I'm really worried about those chest pains now since I cannot even jog without having this pain after 15 mins
Sorry for the long post and I hope there will be anyone who might have any clue what's that.
