Palpitations

For the last few years I have had episodes of palpitations. These can be a one off or last for weeks at time. I have had astress test asnd an echo scan done. These came back normal apart from a finding of a PDA but not clinically significant. I dochave SLE and in the past I have had two episodes of pericarditis. I now have the palpitations back. i am so worried when these happen. Does anyone have a similar experience ?
Many thank Wendy.,

Hi, thank you for your reply. I have had the holter monitor, echos and a couple of stress tests. I also have had a tilt test. The monitor did show I was having palpitations but the doc said they were nothing to worry about. The echo showed that I had a PDA but I was seen by a cardio who said it was of no significance. I did not get any follow up appts. I am having the palps everyday and when I feel them it makes me catch my breath or cough. Lately I have had a few episodes were my heart has been racing, this scared me so much. They last for ages but it goes back to normal and then out of the blue it will happen again. i have tried to see if anything has triggered this but cannot find anything. Also my muscles in and around my chest. back and my left arm pit ache so much after I have these. I feel as though my chest muscles have been through a strenuous workout. Sometimes it hurts the muscles when I move, this lasts for a day or two. Have you got any ideas what it could be? Have you ever experienced the muscle stiffness? The muscle pain doesnt hurt its just sore. X

Hi Wendy, I have palpitations pretty frequently (everyday). I have also had a heart work up and was told it is benign. Sometimes our hearts just act up a bit for no reason. Has your doctor recommened any kind of holter monitor?  that could help with diagnosing what you are feeling and how frequently.
