Would Dr's Office Call?

This probably sounds like a pretty naïve questions, but hope someone might respond... I had a stress test last week - attained 85% of heart rate and 10.2 METS. Test was completed and I went home. If there was something concerning, would I have received a phone call? I don't see the dr til next week. The test was taken in my cardiologist's office - he has a great reputation... not sure of the protocol - thanks in advance...

Not here. If it isn't life threatening, but still a problem, they will leave it until the appointment with the cardiologist.

Agree with Shasari, they normally call you right away if anything serious is going on.  If it's really bad, the tech is not supposed to let you leave the testing site.  So you can pretty much assume they didn't find very much, but they should have called you by now, anyway.  If it's been over a week, I think that's too long to leave somebody waiting to hear even good news.  I would call the cardiologist's office on Monday.  If your appointment is toward the beginning of the week, maybe you don't mind waiting an extra day or two, and that's fine, too.  Doctors around here don't respond to emails.

While I can't guarantee this of course, in my experience when I had received some serious news after a CT angiogram, the cardiologist called me that very evening.  Probably if you haven't heard anything than the news is not likely bad - but... and I can't stress this enough, if you are concerned and can email your doctor you should do so.  Either way, you'll have the information you're looking for and if it's good news, it will reduce your stress load until you get to see your cardiologist.
