abnormal ecgs

Hi. Had pre-op ecg, showed abnormal result inferior infarct, age undetermined. Pre-op nurse, doctor and anaesthetist all looked at it and said no heart attack. Compared with previous ecg 2 yeas ago which looked the same but said normal ecg. Had ecg repeated at GP, still says abnormal, inferior infarct probably old. Now referred to cardiologist. Terrified - have I had a heart attacK? Did have chest pain about 6 years ago, went to A and E and was OK. Referred to angina clinic, OK. Anyway, normal egg since then. Help please!Thank you.

Thanks. Will do. What do you think about anaesthetist thinking it was ok and virtually the same as one which said normal 2 years ago? Thanks for comment - it really helps.

To be absolutely certain, I think a nuclear scan would be invaluable here. It will show any dead areas of the heart, plus any which are inadequate in blood flow. Ask your Doctor to refer you for one because you want to know about your heart.
