It would depend on the tests they did. If they did an EKG along with an echo or stress test then I would think it would be difficult to miss  heart attack unless there was no muscle damage. I had a recent annual visit to the cardiologist and they always start off with the tech doing an EKG and taking your vitals after which the cardiologist does her exam. In my case, everything was going great until she read the EKG that was just taken after which she told me it looked like I had suffered a heart attack since my last visit. I told her that was not possible as I have been working out daly without symptoms, lost 60 pounds and had been feeling great. She DRILLED me with a full array of questions even reminded me that it was important I tell her the truth. After she finished interrogating me, she sent a more "experienced" tech in to do another EKG. It was a little nerve wracking as I heard her tell the tech to get the results to her immediately as we were going to the cath lab today if there was still an issue. Long story short, the second EKG was fine, the first tech just placed a lead incorrectly.

This just shows you how seriously doctors and cardiologists take these things, they just don't normally make mistakes and question anything that looks abnormal. Could human error be involved, I suppose so, but that's why it depends on the test. For example, if they did an echo they would have seen an area of your heart that does not contract with the rest of the heart, that's not easy to miss. If they did a stress test, they would see changes in your EKG and again that's just not the kind of thing that gets missed. If you have serious doubts by all means get a second opinion, it's your health, but don't sell your doctors short, they have much to risk also.

Well some doctor can miss things they are human also. I had one cardiologist tell me i had heart failure on the right side and did nothing about it and i was getting sicker and sicker. He felt I was to young to be having problem so I change doc and he is very good he listen to and he don't take nothing for granted. Well if you not happy who teats you find someone else but if you like him then you have stick by his word.

Did a Cardiologist look at all these tests?  If yes, I would believe him/her.  Doctors don't fool with the heart, to many malpractice suits would be waiting in the wings.
