high blood pressure plus high heart rate

Hx:  Hubby 47 has had HBP for 1 year?  systolic(136-150) dyastoic(104 118). Heart rate high 90's or 100 - 110.  Took Avapro o/d x 1 month July/08.  Stress test after second appt. was okay.  Cholesterol ok. BP still up.  ie: dyastolic 108 - 118. Ht rate 100 - 120.  Hubbies father has MI at age 51 died. Hubbies bro at 49 had a massage coronary and died. (2002).  Family doc doesn't seem concerned.
I think his heart rate is too high.  His dyastolic pressure is still high.  Is there a concern?

i'm only 30 years old but i had the same symstems hbp,and high pulse rate running about the same as your husbands since i was 24 years old.all my stress tests done and echos looked good.my doctor wasn't overly concerned but did say we had to try to lower my bp,and monitor it on a regular bases.he gave me toprol xl 50 mg. and my bp and pulse still goes high sometimes but for the most part it made a huge difference.and of course he told me to watch my salt intake, caffeine, and niccotine,i'm not a doctor but my opinion from my experiences it may not be a major concern right now,but still a concern especially if it stays that high for long periods of time.so i would atleast try to get meds for it.this may not help your question but i figured i'd share it with you
