pad and cad

I have CAD with a stent placed last year. I also have PAD with cold extremities and numbness in one arm and both feet. My left inside foot had discoloration. In the morning after a night's sleep it is red, but by evening it is almost black. What causes the change in color and is it dangerous?

Are you diabetic?  Also, do you have vericous veins?  I'd get checked for these conditions given your symptoms, as well as Chatter's suggested cause for your difficulties.  My guess is that your right fermerol artery was used for the angiogram/stent procedure, and your left foot is discolored, so there should be no connection.

I've had discoloration of my feet for a number of years caused by vericous veins.  My feet are numb from diabetes.  I've got a lot of stents, but the discoloration came much earlier.  My grandgirls like to play 'connect the dots' with my veins using washable ink to make interesting designs. I used to be pretty vain, now it's all about bad veins!

Did they do a doppler to check the flow?  Did they do an angio to check for blockages?  Gees, I went to the cardiologist as soon as my foot went numb.  They found an artery in the stomach(the Iliac, I think)  that was 100% blocked and it was stented immediately.  I didn't have any discoloration of my foot, just alot of pain for a couple of years.  I have stents in my RCA also, so I would get another opinion.  Good luck!  Ally
