She is 45 and has hyperthyroidism Gastroparesis and fibromyalgia the only thing symptom wise is she has a lot of chest pain but  previously they have done blood work and she did the treadmill stress test and everything was normal we came about this during a trip to the e.r. for what turned out to be anxiety while hooked up to the monitor the nurse noticed she got down to 42 bpm and she said mention to our family doctor he ordered the holter monitor and from that he said she had a new diagnosis of bradycardia she hasnt see a cardiologist since last year when he told us everything looked great without health insurance now we have to go to county hospital and thats where the december appointment comes in thats the soonest a cardiologist can see her i guess im more worried then her thanks for replying.....

Hello Les,
Is your wife symptomatic with the slow or fast heart rates? Does she get lightheaded, dizzy, short of breath, tired, weak, nauseous, etc... How old is your wife? And what other health conditions does she have? Just a few things that would factor in when considering the time frame to be seen by a physician.

I'm guessing the Dec appoinment is a follow up for the Holter monitoring, does that sound right? Your wife's Cardiologist may have explained why the next appoinment is okay to be scheduled several months away, but that info was lost among other details.

If you still have concerns, I always say call the office and ask the Cardiologist to give you a call at home. Explain to the scheduling nurse you just have a couple of questions regarding the last recent visit for your wife and need to clarify things. Your doc won't mind calling back if you have your concerns ready to talk about.

Hope that helps a bit.
