My ectopics have increased so much in the past 3 months. I now have episodes that last hours. I went to A&E recently because I had some that lasted all day. They hooked me up to ECG and checked all my vitals ... I was sent home and told to just ignore them.
I've had them for over 15 years but they have definitely got more frequent recently.
I notice I have them around the same time every day. I wake up and I'm fine throughout the day. I'll have the odd handful here and there but nothing problematic. As soon as around 5pm comes they begin. I originally joked with the wife about them happening as soon as our son comes home from school because they're consistent most days.
Eating a meal is difficult in the evening because they will happen constantly while eating. They're the thud type skips with the pause. Horrible things. I had an ectopic as I was swallowing recently and it caused me to choke on my food.
The only thing I can put my finger on is certain positions starts them off. Once they start there is no stopping them until they decide to stop. My triggers seem to be:
* Sitting upright
* Lying on my stomach
* Lying on my heart side
* Anxiety
* Eating
* Not enough food
* Too much food
* Sugar
I don't drink. I don't smoke. I do use cannabis with a vaporiser. The cannabis neither contributes, nor cures, the ectopics. The ectopics happen with or without the cannabis. The cannabis does more good for my mental health than it does bad so I continue to use it.
It's frustrating at times because it feels like I can't live a normal life.
Does anyone else find certain positions can set them off?
