Looking up and lightheadedness

Has anyone ever had lightheadeness only when looking up and standing up. I understand why I could get lightheaded when standing, but why would I become lightheaded just from looking up or raising my head up after looking down?  I also get a pit in my stomach (nauseated) when this happens.

I was just recently told by neurologist that migraines were the cause of a number of neuro symptoms Ive had since March. But while my dizziness had gone away, Im left with annoying lightheadeness which is still causing weight loss bc of the nausea. Any thoughts anyone?

Thanks.

Your post really hit home with me! I do this as well; if I go into Home Depot and look up, say at the fans, I will get I will get very lightheaded and if I continue to look up, I can lose my balance. I have a 'balance testing done' and that was not normal. I've never really followed up on this problem because I really don't think about it being that important, but I do definately have the same problem

Thanks Brandi, I have heard of this but didnt realize it had so many associated symptoms. I have never had low BP so I figured it didnt apply. I wonder if a person can develop POTS after multiple neuro symptoms like dizziness, loss of balance, left foot drop, and dizziness... Just to name a few. i had an MS work up recently which was negative so I am stuck for now bc my neurologist is chalking this up to anxiety... Frustrating.

Hello,

Please look into Postural Orthostatic Tachycardia Syndrome (POTS). It is a very unheard of nervous system disorder that prevents the body from being able to properly adjust to the pull of gravity. Therefore, symptoms arise, such as: rapid heart rate upon standing, low or high blood pressure, dizziness, fainting, fatigue, sweating, headaches, shortness of breath, inability to exercise, digestion problems, etc. The symptoms are endless and vary person to person day to day.

Please feel free to contact me if you have any questions.

Best wishes,
Brandi
