Point of Interest

I am a 56 year old female with a history of what has felt like "skipped beats" over many years. Just recently I began having 30-50 a day where I would only have about 3-5 in a month. I went to the doctor and my EKG was normal. Of course none of my symptoms happened during the EKG. I had blood tests and all came out ok. No difficulty breathing, no sharp pain, no dizziness, no pain down arm. I went in and had a 24 Holter Monitor and my results came in as stated in my last post. Here's the point of interest.  My Vitamin D is 14!  That is REALLY low. I have begun taking higher doses to get the level higher, but have recently read research that vitamin D can affect your heart health. I'm truly wondering if my Vitamin D level is the reason for my palpitations. We'll see, as I am going with Dr. Oz and taking 1,000 mg. of Vitamin D daily and 1,000 of Fish oil. In addition to that, my doctor is putting me on Ergocalciferol for a few weeks to increase my vitamin D. I truly hope this is the answer. I have dealt with this so long!

I wish I could take fish oil, (can't because of my health problems) I would love for my skin to be soft again :P  that's a good side benefit I'll have to remember.

Thanks for the comments. I am feeling better already and my palps are not as bad. Plus the fear of having them causes more palps! I think many things are a factor. I guess I have to go with what the doctor said and consider the fact that it is stress. I had a very difficult couple of months with a lot of stresses and I think I threw myself over the edge in the stress department! November and December were extremely difficult and now that things have settled down I am doing somewhat better. Besides the low Vitamin D I also have low "good" cholesterol.  I think my system is just freaked out and running on empty. Will pursue the fish oil and Vitamin D as well as the doctor ordered perscription of Ergocalciferol and see what happens. I seem to have more energy already and my mood is better.  Plus, the fish oil has made my skin really soft!  Thanks all

Please let us know how you fare after being on vitamin D and fish oil for a couple of months.  I'm curious to see how it affects you.  I hope it diminishes your palps.  Fish oil is very helpful for some, for me not so much.  I can't tell if vitamin D is helping me in the palp dept.
Good luck.

I have read both of your posts and can not add anything very helpful for the first, for the second, this one, I comment any deficiency in your blood test results should be corrected asap, and then see if that provides any relief to you palpitations.  I think that may be the case.   Good luck.
