gas or heart attack?

I have recently been dignosed with hypertension. I have started blood pressure meds and choleserol meds. It seems that since i started the meds, I am feeling tigntness in my chest, ang left arm pains. I also feel disconfort right in the area of my heart, it is like one pinpoint place in my heart. I have went to the ER twice and both times they gave me meds to lower my BP but said the EKG was negative for  a heart attack. Am I creating this in my mind, is it gas that Ive always had but not noticed? I am scared to death....   Anyone with any advice would be appreciated. I am a 34 yr old male. Thanks.

An EKG alone cannot tell if you had a heart attack. They should have drawn cardiac enzymes.  Did they do troponin levels?  In any case, CALL YOUR PRESCRIBING DOC!

I'm with Jerry get back to your doc describe your symptoms clearly  and assume nothing.

What BP meds are you taking?  Toprol (Metoprolo)?  Some of these medications have unpleasant side effects, read those details on your prescription paperwork.  

Have you discussed your problems with the doctor that prescribed the meds you're taking?
