Can I treat myself without seeing Dr?

Hi

I think I may have a haemorrhoid. I have itchy feeling and occasional very tiny spot of blood after passing a motion. Today I have an itchy raised bump no bigger than a large spot and just skin coloured next to back passage.
Can I treat this with Anasol from chemist or should I see GP for diagnosis? If so why is it better to see a GP
Thanks

Hi, self treating is an option as long as they dont become overly painful and blood inflated then you might need a scrip to help with the swelling. They do match the symptoms of hemorrhoids and using some over the counter 1% corizone cream with aloe will help with the itching but dont overly use.
