Hemorrhoid operation

Within the past year my hemorrhoids came out again after 20 years. It's  not painful and the only time it bleeds is when I scratch it. The itch drives me crazy and for some reason it's only at night and it keeps me up. I can't sleep and am constantly scratching. I've used Cortisone 10, Preparation H and Tucks. My doctor even gave me suppositories. Nothing works and now I'm considering the operation but have no clue exactly what the doctor does. Does anyone know?

Hi, I had the surgery a little over year ago for Thrombosed Hemorroid (blood clotted, purple color) that I couldn’t get to go away with all the medicines from the doc. I will tell ya, it was no worse than living with it! They cut it open, you sit on a tube for a few days and it is gone. Now, I recently just got another one back. I am trying to do everything I can because I don’t have insurance right now. It is so painful and uncomfortable. They say more fiber and sitz baths help with a good cream like TheaT has mentioned. I have heard that from someone else as well. Good luck to you =0)

I have heard the surgery is somewhat painful.  I assume you are seeing a colon rectal surgeon.
I would get a tube of Calmoseptine from the drug store.  It is over the counter.  If you do not see it, the pharmacist can order it for you.
My best to you.  I know hemorrhoids are no fun!
