I was dx'd with HCV a year ago, and have had no tx to date. I am type 1a and my liver is Necroinflammitory stage 2-3 fibrosity with bridging. I have COPD. I've had staff infection @ L ulnar @ hardware, (inf. was '91) Hardware was put in, in '88. My question: I'm going to Cedars on 2-28, to see if I'm eligible, to be a candidate for their *PROTEASE STUDY, I know that it is hard to determine how I'd fare with this tx, without my full labs but, do you know anything about this* drug? Please advise me, or perhaps direct me as to where I'd get more info. Thank you very much for any and all input. Hugs, Ant B
At stage 3 you do not have cirrhosis. Thank God. I'm stage 3 too.
Have you treated before? Why are you trying this particular study?
I dont know anything about this drug being used in hepc tx but its interesting because if it worked, it would potentially be great for arthritis patients who have historically been told not to treat at times (there is at least on study advocating that they should treat with very low level prednisone) This med could help though, I would think - and you'd have to wonder if it also might help with some of the tx side effects many of us suffer from, such AS rheumatoid arthritis. Looks good on paper anyway,
Maybe post this and direct it to HR, I'd be interested to see what he has to say,
Other than that, you didnt give us much info to look at your personal pros and cons. Have you been through tx before and the way the tx was put into into SVR, or what is the reason you are needing to complicate a study at this point. Did the standard tx not work for you, or?
Hey, Don't know anything about remicide but if your liver is at stage 3 you don't have cirrhosis. jerry
