My husband had a colonoscopy at that place. I tried to see if one of the premier Gastros there treated HCV (in 2003 or 2005...I can't remember) they made me feel ashamed and embarrassed. They did not treat Hepatitis C patients at that time. I noticed that doctor still practices there.
I too go to Alamo Medical Research. The first time I treated I saw Dr. Lawitz for every single visit. By the time I treated again the practiced increased in size tremendously & take up the whole block on Camden. One building is for research and the other is the digestive disease center.
During the last 48 weeks I only saw Dr. L once. I mainly saw my NP whom I respect and felt very comfortable with. I feel like I received excellent care they are very familiar with SOC for triple as well as the rescue meds. My only caveat is that it is unlikely you will see your doctor for every visit.
I would only recommend the place for stages 0, 1, 2 with no co-exisiting conditions or more advanced fibrosis. I say that since I my experience is limited to that. The few people I know with stage 3 and beyond have treated elsewhere.
jerialice and Margaret Dudley both sought treatment in SA and for different reasons opted to not treat yet. Hopefully they will chime in:

You might want to send a PM to Margaret Dudley. She really gets around and has met all kinds of people since she orchestrated the petition. She has been featured on KENS 5 news, the Express and does lots of networking:

The only Hepatologist I heard of in SA is Robert McFadden, MD. He did not accept my insurance and there were some other hassles so I was never able to see him. Not sure if he is still around though.
Do you have your biopsy results yet?
