Does memory usually return to normal after tx?

I'm on my office computer trying to get some important things done business wise. My short term memory is terrible today... I'm trying to gather various information for marketing purposes for one of our online marketing projects and I'll read something and goto type it into my excel spreadsheet and forget what I just read so I have to go read the document all over again. This kind of sucks... :(

I am three weeks off treatment and today, for the first time in 6 months, I went to a mall and actually found my car on the first try!!  Amazing how these small tasks make us feel good -LOL.

OK - here's the scoop for me...

Remember each person responds differently.

I was a mess during TX and for the 3 months following. I couldn't remember what day it was - what my middle name was unless I had an adrenalin rush going.

My boss would walk over and say - do this - that - this... I'd nod my head... but by the time he'd turned around I'd forgotten what he'd said.

Now - in the job I'm in that could be DANGEROUS.

So I started Sticky Notes... LMAO - prolly why I love these little sticky notes here.

Anyhow --- somewhere around 6 months post TX I realized I was remembering things better --- nowhere near the elephant steel trap as before --- but I could hold on to tasks and complete projects as long as I streamlined my thought process... Which for me is pretty difficult being ADHD... And TX making the ADHD ten times worse.

Anyhow... again... Now about 1 year and 2 months post I've gotten a lot better - about 85-90%.

Throw in age --- throw in my own personal reaction to the meds --- and throw in I had 6 surgeries on Jan 22... I'm not complaining. LOL!

In fact - I'm glad I finally remembered my middle name.

now at wk 20. insurance decided I needed a pre-authorization to continue tx at this point. After calling to he** and back I got an override by the right people and the pharmacy shipped my Riba and forgot my injections. My shot should have been last night. Hysteria from all things that hasn't gone as planned has had me at the breaking point for 2 months now.............all I want is a smile or joke or big old fashioned hug or better yet somewhere else to fall apart. My daughter has informed me that as of the end of the month her boyfriend is having back surgery and I'm expected to be at his beckon call 24/7 to help him out of bed, cook, clean etc etc til at least the middle of june or until further notice..................My Tx'ing Dr quit her job at the end of March and the first appt I can get with another GI Dr in the same practice is Aug 6th. Is it just me or is that F**ked up? Losing it and can't seam to get a grip.

speaking of brainfog.................I went for a mental stat eval yesterday for SS disability as my former tx'ing Dr ordered and couldn't count from 20 backwards by 3's. HGB, HCT, PLT's 101, Ab neut's 1.5-2.0 RBC's and WBC's also have been dropping weekly since week 12 etc. etc. AB lymphs low too! I feel like I'm dying and where I'm living I wish I would.

I have been off TX for 4 weeks now and my memory is back to normal, maybe better.  It was crazy bad on treatment.  A complete blank at time, I had to write things down more and lay out my task list more detail.  Things will get better!!!

I forgot..............what was your question again...  : )))))))))))

yes, mine is better with tx and also changes in other meds has helped.
everyone is different.
have your ammonia level checked.
if it is high consider taking Lactolose,,,,,you need 3 good BM's every day for liver health.
Lactulose will help lower your blod ammonia, which causes brain fog.
