For non-invasive mapping of tissue elasticity my doc recommended MRE ( Magnetic resonance elastography ).
My Latest Fibroscan was around 27 which is up from 14.8 six months back BUT my doc said these results are 70% accurate, the gold test is MRI elastography , Magnetic Resonance Elastography (MRE) so I will get that done in the very near future.
Fibroscan scores usually cannot determine cirrhosis. Most hepatologists, liver experts, check ultra-sound imaging, blood test results along with fibroscan results. For example; if someone has a fatty liver then the fibroscan score will be very high. But if the ultra-sound shows a smooth surface without holes in the liver, then it may not really be cirhosis. So, just a fibroscan high number is not enough information to really know the health of the liver.
The best thing to do is get your father proper treatment to stop the disease. Then his liver can start to recover.
Mine is 14.8 and the doctor said its bordeline F3
Hello , this may clarify .
best wishes and warm regards .
Fibroscan .
KPA less than 7.5 would be stage 0 or stage 1.
KPA 7.5 to 9.5 would be stage 2
KPA 9.5 to 12.5 (or 14) would be stage 3
You may want to try the cirrhosis forum this forum is for hep c patients and the cirrhosis forum will probably have more information for you

Doctor provided some medicine and suggested not to eat meat and many other oily foods.
what does the doctor suggest ?
my father has non alcoholic cirrhosis disease ... he doesn't have Hep-c. i alraedy mention his score in fibroscan result... i am much worried about his health condition .
A person with chronic hepatitis C and a liver stiffness more then 14 kPa has approximately a 90% probability of having cirrhosis, while patients with liver stiffness more then 7 kPa have around an 85% probability of at least significant fibrosis
usually all scores above 12.5 kpa means cirrhosis.
Does he have Hep-c?
with the new treatments he has good chances that his liver can improve after sucsesfull treatment.
sorry for the short asnwer i hope some experts will chime in and give their opinion.
