Through 4 treatment failures, I see better now than ever. Only use reading glass where before I had to also use long distance glasses. So glad the treatments helped even if they didn't cure the Hep C.

best to have vl testing regularly for a few years - very little in life is 100%
I just hope it's not MY potential man - I do have a potential you know
Great thread it's nice to see the humor back in this place again.
Anne I love your note please dont mind if I copy it - if I wake up and find a man in my bed after this long I'd sure like to remember who the hell he is for next time ;)
you are SOOOOOOOOOOO funny
Hi Trish !! Thanks for your encouragement as always. I didn't know you had to stop early and still a great outcome for you! Whoppie ding dillio softball star!! Yes, the eye doc definitely thought it was a reaction to the meds but may improve after tx. I see I have mail from you so I will scoot over there. TTFN
Hey June!! Funny - I was wondering a few days ago how you were doing post tx. So, how are you doing? Hopefully you are back to normal and enjoying the CA sunshine. I am on Facebook technically but don't go on very often. I will send you my name via the back door.
Hope all is well, Anne
"HEY ANNE CAN YOU SEE DAVE"S FISH TYPING LARGE SO YOU CAN SEE... MAYBE DAVE WILL MAKE THEM BIGGER JUST FOR YOU! "
Well aren't we the funny boy!!!!! Are those the only type of fish you can catch up there?
Hi Anne,
Just wanted to stop by and encourage you.... " I am fighting giving up a little - not with both fists though. " I know exactly what you mean. When I got the call to stop treatment, it was a real struggle and I kept taking my riba until I could get my head wrapped around it and finally just accepted that it was the best decision. For me, it was a severely compromised immune system. It's tough when you're in full fighting mode to suddenly be told "you're done now". I can relate.
Getting rid of the virus is important. At the point that it compromises your health in other ways, there's a time to call it. Between you and your medical team, you'll know when that is.
You've got a lot going for you! You've had great results and you have good stats and you've gotten most of the way through your treatment. If you decide to stop now, it's about the best possible scenario.
As for your vision, you may find it correcting to a certain degree after you stop treatment. I noticed my vision deteriorating slightly but noticeably while on treatment and I waited six months after treatment and on the advice of my doctor before going for a vision test for new glasses to make sure any impacts from the drugs were completely gone to get a true test.
And if it's any consolation....I got the call to stop treatment at Week 34 out of 48. I'm SVR. Wish you all the best Anne. Totally rooting for you.
Trish
I think you're doc is being wise Anne. Why take the chance? I started having sudden vision changes towards the end of tx but I didn't do anything about it as the other sx were messing with me too much. My change in vision was probably related to something else. Since you had yourself checked out and there is a significant difference, I'd pay a lot of attention to that.
I've been wondering how you've been doing. Though I'm sorry to hear you have to stop tx early, I'm also happy that you will be on the road to recovery soon. You were RVR so my fingers are crossed that stopping a tad early won't be a problem. And golly, with HGB in the 8's, jeez!!! I thought I was going to die when mine tanked to the mid 9's!!
So when is your last shot and riba?
June
P.s. Are you on facebook?
As much as is like to say it was my artwork I can't I thought you'd get a kick.out of it though.
LOL! thats awesome. I can"t even spell my name and you can draw fish!!

"Dave I thought that was one of my better ones.......... anybody seen Willcur :)? "
It's difficult to admit in front of the whole internet world, but either I am an idiot, didn't read something, or this is not funny or all of the above.
It took me a minute to get this far but I am guessing "Willcur" = "Will cure" in your weird Jody Foster/Nell like language. I thought you weren't drinking :)

Hi Anne. I'm pretty new here, and your sharing your experience does help me. This thread has me laughing. Tough call on tx but at least you have more than one medical opinion, along with Will and Dave in your corner. Wishing you all the best!

heh heh heh - just maybe I'm a cute-depends on who's looking. Of course I won't leave - have to give back eh?? AND it is not a definite yet. Maybe we'll do another blood test. I am fighting giving up a little - not with both fists though.
Thank you for your kind words as well - In a short period of time, several of you have become so dear. I am proud to "know" you and call you friends.
Dave I thought that was one of my better ones.......... anybody seen Willcur :)?
Anne...glad they treated you aggressively because you are a cute..... and I agree with Dave ...a great addition to the forum ,and hey just cause you are all done with tx. doesn:t mean you get to leave :)
Will
.
Hi Dave - thanks for your kind words!! And I truly appreciate all of your advice and wisdom and plan to stick around to return the favor. There are so few acutes diagnosed out there and maybe another will come along.
About that Canadian guy - Best answer because I didn't quite understand it and, he's a Bruins fan in Canadian country so he should be spotted a bit of a handicap. It must be tough to be Will- LOL - KIDDING WILL !!! XXXOOO
Thank you all for you comments. The opthamologist thought the decline was due to the meds and the GI doesn't want to take further chances considering at this point since the outcome looks so good. Additionally my HGB dipped into the 8's, RBC, WBC, and neutrophils are tanked. They treated VERY aggressively since I was acute and many GI's would have stopped me at 16 weeks.
Besides, I need a boyfriend and I'm not going to get one with this energy level. S, I say lets raise the dead and hope the GI is right. He is supposed to let me know for sure at the end of the day.
WILL - +1 Will!!!!!!
DEB- Ha Ha - You're right - are we the same age - 53?? I have a note next to my bed - The guy next to you is............Your children's names are...............You work at...............Feed the dog......................Don't forget to put clothes on before you go out again............AND yours is - Give my boss the report and not the pretty red balloons!!
flcyclist - Yes - that could be it, the shine of the Stanley cup - hh heh heh
I'm kind of disappointed that you gave the canadian guy the best answer though, I thought I had it in the bag :)
I would take your doctor's advice personally. You can't mess around with your eyesight. There is no such thing as 100%, but my guess is that you beat it. We are all rooting for you Anne.
You've been a really good sport through this whole thing and a great addition to the forum.
-Dave
Anne, any possibilty that staring at that shiny Stanley Cup too long might have added to this problem??? We must consider all outside influences, lol. Anyway....... I see not fear mongering, just a concern for her sudden loss of vision.
