Infergen and VX-950 Trial Warning

Spoke to Cedars-Sinai hosp. in L.A. yesterday where they are holding the VX-950 trials for non-responders. Just wanted to pass on what they told me to everyone who is interested in entering that trial. If you have been on Infergen, you will be excluded from the trial for some unknown reason.

This is the case with me, as my last failed treatment was with Riba and Infergen. They are going to try and get a waiver so I can enter the trial. Just a warning to all that it is their current policy. Again, no explanation why. Talk to your doctor if you are anticipating Infergen as a treatment...

I'm reluctant to start a 5th treatment with double-dosing with Pegasys, as it is reported to only have a 15-20% chance of clearing the hard to clear as myself. This is the option left for me if the waiver of treating after Infergen fails. Anyone bween on a double-dose of Pegasys when other treatments failed? If so, what were the results? Thanks...

Thanks for the info Magnum.  This brings several questions to mind.  When the PI's are part of SOC, wondering if those previously treated with Infergen will not be candidates for triple therapy?  I appears this only applies on a trial basis now.  Secondly, will those who do not reach SVR with triple therapy be allowed to treat again with the PI's or will Infergen be the first choice because of the resistance to the PI's?
