10th Day on New HCV Meds

Well my insurance finally approved me for 84 more days of therapy!  WoW this stuff is expensive to the point of being ridiculous! At a $1000 bucks a pill for the Solvaldi alone...   I am very fortunate and very thankful to get another chance of knocking this Hep C in the head.

This is day 10 of taking Sofosbuvir ( Solvaldi ) 400mg day and Simeprevir (Olysio) 150mg day.  I have had very little side effects if any at all. Some body aches and mild headache is the only thing I have noticed.

As different as night and day compared to triple therapy of Interferon, Incivik, and Ribivarion so far.

congrats on the insurance approval.

.i am so grateful as well.. waited a long time for this.

didn't want to do riba/interferon..i guess10 years ago, after biopsy and just stage 1 fibrosis the docs were not going to use that on me as they said it was hard treatment..and with 1a the chance of it working was slim…so I waited….and waited,,, and now i am treating!

just got my 2nd months  S/O in the mail, Friday..i was thinking.. this box is valued at almost 50K

some headaches , mild 1st week, 2nd week severe depression, 3rd week depression gone and more energy some more headache..

labs good! piece of cake as far as sides go!

I tell ya the damn lyrica and cymbalta sides were soooo bad
i didn't want to take them, but the tried them 2 years ago as I was so desperate for relief..I tried…bad bad bad...and they don't cure anything or help chronic pain much if at all..

way to go scientists who made these meds! i want to send them a thank you card! who are they?

I share your sentiments. On day 2, the main symptom of taking S & O is being more lightheaded and whacky than my normal, forgetful whackyness. Getting these meds approved falls into the category of "Radical Grace"...as opposed to prison grace of Ramen Noodles.

How wonderful for you that after being a null responder three times and having cirrhosis since 2008, you finally have a real opportunity to reach SVR.
I can only imagine how excited you must feel to know you will soon be able to  put this battle with the Hep C virus behind you for good.

Wishing you a wonderful summer knowing that the virus is already gone and will never return...hallelujah!

Hi
I just finished 12 weeks on Sovaldi/ Olysio. Tuesday was my last dose.

I didn't notice anything different at all really. I mean is it a little headache or a little headache side effect? I was undectable at 4 weeks.

I am 1a, 3 time null, responder, diagnosed with hep C in 1990 and cirrhosis in 2008. Never did Incivek already had cirrhosis when it became available.

Hoping I am still undectable in 12 weeks in September. Oh Happy Day!

Good luck in your treatment like you said piece of cake compared with interferon.

That's great! The new treatment drugs just seem to be so much easier on the body. I hope it stays that way throughout treatment. Good luck!!
