There are new trial drugs coming up for clinical trials all the time. There are some trials that have drugs that are very early in research and don't necessarily have any history of success. Just make sure that before you get in a trial you post on this forum to get some feedback from ppl who have had experience with that drug or have heard something about it. Also, you wouldn't want to get in a trial that has an arm that doesn't give SOC at the minimum.
One last thing, when you get on the trial be sure to come on this forum and talk about it b/c you may need someone to talk about it and it's best to talk to ppl who have been thru it and know what to expect. good luck
Thanks for that, it was what l thought, if l do the combo, obviously will be a clinical trial, l will just stick to what the doctors say is okay to take. Strange times, wont find out until January if l will be accepted into the trial, hope so, am geno 1a, 30 yrs duration, stage 2 fibrosis, so want to increase chance of success. The doctor spoke of 2 other trials that will be running, one was just oral pills and cant even remember what the other one was...was so bamboozled... had to give my email address to them and mucked it all up...felt a real fool the next day when l rang to correct it.
Most of the ppl who have tx with the 3 combo tx were in clinical trials which don't allow supplements. The ppl who have used supplements while they were on tx is a bit unscientific. It's really difficult to measure how much they were actually helped as the couple of cases that I know about were ppl who had tx more than once. Could be the first or even the second time they tx prior to using supplements beat down their HepC or conditioned their system enough to make their 3rd time work like a charm. I don't think anyone can say anything for certain when it comes to supplements.
