Rash from Hell :(...

I finished my 48 weeks of pegysus in April 2010,  around 7 months ago,  have 1 final blood test in December but have been negative all the way through....Hair went from curly to straight....My problem is this darn rash,  just cannot get rid of it,  on the front of my legs(mainly right leg),  have little sores and my skin seems really thin and opens up to the scratch easily,  using all kinds of creams,  just can't get rid of it,  same rash in my left ear,  shaving legs on a daily basis as the hair irritates it,  have some bigger sores that get a black scab on back of calves,  only the size of tip of pen,  they do not seem to go completely away,  in a very stressful atmosphere,  also waiting for liver transplant in London,  ON....Is the stress making it worse?  Is there an end to this rash?  Please help...Thanks from get me a fork!!!!NOW!!!!

I got a case of autoimmune eczema towards the end of my 72 weeks of tx - it never really went away and still flares up today.  It's on my legs too.

I went to the dermatologist and he wrote me a prescription that helped stop the itching so fast it was great.

Thankyou so much for all the information,  have tried alot of creams,  temporarily work but was hoping to get rid of it...I will definetly look into all of the suggestions....Still waiting for calls and that one last test but yeah I am happy that part is over,  and who knows maybe won't need a full transplant now,  miracles do happen!  Like all of us,  getting another chance...I know I am truly blessed to even have gotten this far,  it has changed me for the better,  I am honestly a better person for becoming sick,  I know that may sound crazy,  but to some it will ring a bell in their head...Thank God,  For getting in the way of my lifelong quest for intoxication and escape,  giving me a chance to be the real me,  and to learn what life is really about,  it's the little things that matter,  the things I took for granted,  but appreciate today,  and am truly grateful for....deedee96

I too had to go to a dermatologist while on my last tx.  (yes, I relapsed and now going thru it again)  She prescribed clobex for me and it worked.  I have not had that problem this tx, just on the bottom of my feet!  so strange.

Good luck to you.  and congrats on your und status for so long!  Be happpy about it.  That is the goal with tx!!

Congratulations on getting through 48 weeks!!  I hope your liver has repaired a little because of it.

I would see a doctor regarding the rash; it may heal up much more quickly with prescription drugs/antibiotic cream/cortisone.   I doesn't seem a normal post treatment symptom (hopefully someone will correct me if I'm wrong) after 7 months;  if a staph infection has got under the skin, you would need some medical help to clear it.

All the very best wishes and hopes for your final test.

I have to be honest,  I am not positive of your abbreviations,  but I did have the Hep c virus,  undetected for so many years led to end stage cirrosis of the liver....I started taking the meds and at the first 6 week test I showed negative,  and at the end I showed negative,  just waiting on one final test,  I do believe I will have to return to London for reassessment,  and I still have to get my biopsy to prove to the goverment,  that a liver is really needed...I hope and pray and I think the docs are doing the same,  as I have regained some liver function,  that maybe I will only need a partial,  also they have to make sure the hep is gone,  as their is no use to transplant someone with it they said....Definetly not pregnant!!!  I really appreciate your advice and will look into it,  as I do have to take alot of vitamins to keep things going,  maybe and hopefully you are right!!!!  Thanks....Deedee

Sounds like a deficiency to me but I don't get how you tx and you're UND all that time but then you're having a liver transplant in London?  Anyways, I hope all is well, have you tried pre-natal vitamins for skin?  I know you're hopefully not preggers but the pre-natals have a high portion of Biotin which you may be deficient in.  check it out and good luck
