I am on tx too, I am in the 7th week, it's so very hard for me too, I think the weakness and the tastes kicks my butt big time. I pray a whole lot for strength. Every day is a new challenge. I am trying to throw a pot luck with all the people at the initial pharmaceutical meeting we had to attend prior to starting our tx treatment here in OK city. I don't think anybody is going to come over cause of how lousy they're feeling. Everything tastes like crap. Oh well, good luck to everyone and boy won't we really appreciate EVERYTHING
so much more in life once we are through this nightmare in treatment! God bless you all!
Best of luck fred, rooster, and steamline it will be over before you know it.
Wow how things here have changed, at one time the "stated problem" would have made a lively topic and reached at least a 200 post thread......:) :)
can it cando
Thanks I started mine tomorrow will be one week. I can honestly say I haven't had the, well you know problem that was stated...LOL
Fell pretty good the first week. Just now started with bodyaches that last for hours. I've been taking Ibuprofen. I know there is controversy over that but my doctor recommended it and it does help. Keep posting and good luck to all.
Wish you good luck with this, Fred and roostermom...and Yay! that your daughter is SVR!!! New frontiers with the folks on the FDA approved drugs and going through treatment not trial so thank you for posting your experiences to benefit others. Hang in there!!!
Trish
Congratulations on starting your new tx. I begin on Aug 1st. Good luck to you and Gods blessings.
fred and rooster:
Wishing y'all all the best.
In my trial, I was 12 weeks on incivek and tx'd for 48 weeks. Granted, I was tx-naive,so your journey has been longer, but I am hoping and praying y'all will reach the same SVR!!
Rooster, to you specifically my heart goes out. Although I treated before my daughter, she will soon treat with the same 3 drugs. Sounds like we can relate on that matter. Another matter is what you referred to as "not for public discussion." I called it "the wiggles", it began about 12 hours after my first dose and ended about abruptly about a day after the last dose. Made for an interesting 12 weeks, to say the least. I'll dig up records to see what worked best...but eating foods that are easy going in is certainly a plus = / Prob explains the love affair I had with my smoothies I mentioned in fred's earlier post.
Hang in there, Fred and Rooster!!!!
All the best,
Isobella
rooster...i took my first shot monday 10 am...felt pretty bad a couple hours later but really bad 12 hours later...couldn't do anything on tues...had a bad fever....and today is better but not great..i think tomorrow will be ok....i do feel bound up a little...we will see how that goes and what is alright to take for it......good luck.......billy
In week 2 and fun new side to report! This one isn't exactly for publice discussion - but hey. I would seriously recommend taking a stool softener - enough said.
Thank you all for your best wishes, I truely appreciate it...badbambino - I guess you're Italian - me too. Roosterman, I got some chills the first night and then later some sweats but nothing serious. The next day I was fine and I continue to be. I'm a relapser so I know that it takes a while for the real sides to kick in...I'm ready to rock and roll and my 3 little friends are with me.
Stay tuned - this is gonna get ugly but I'm up for the fight...Regards - Fred
fred and rooster, wishing you more good days ahead!
I don't know about you Fred, but I took the shot on Tues, felt off on weds and awfull on Thurs so I worked from home on Friday, expecting to feel same. In fact, I felt ok, and Sat was my same old self and played 18 holes of golf with friends. Today is Sunday, and I plan on doing it again. I will get blood work done every Tuesday, because last time I did trt, it wiped out my white blood cells so I was on neupogen for the year. But if this week is a portend of how things will go, I feel pretty good. I am telling my boss tomorrow I will be working from home Weds and Thurs, and hope to be back on my feet again by Friday. How did it go for your first week??
Hey Fred, Good luck with your treatment. I'm in Jersey City.
Fred and Roostermom,
Wishing you both the best in this tx journey. It ain't easy but it sure is wonderful when you're finished and you can say those 3 letters...SVR. Hang in there and focus on the prize!

Hi Fred, I'm pulling for you! Hope you are feeling okay today. Love your mood for Hep C to "say hello to my 3 little friends"! LOL :0)
To: Roostermom -- WAY TO GO for your daughter!! I wish you the best in tx.
Hey good luck! We're (actually my BF) is at week 10. Ups and down but responding well so far. One day at a time!
Goodluck with your tx Fred (and roostermom). Lots of support hear whenever you need it.
hope the response is good and the sides minimal.

I just started mine on Tues and had a rough first days, but feel good today. I did have to get a perscription for anti nausea meds because the incevik was making me feel awful - I was making myself car sick just driving a mile and back to the train station! My daughter was in the incevik drug trial, and is CURED, so I am optimistic for all of us. This is my second time doing the trt - first time was 48 weeks in 2001, but relapsed shortly after finishing trt. Good luck to you, and I look forward to your posts and to know how you are getting along.
