Update

Whats up guys!! I hope everybody had a good holiday... Just wanted to update you guys on my tx... I have not been on for a long time now because i dont have the internet at my house anymore... Im doing well... sx are light just fatigue.. i feel so much better now that i m off Telaprevir .. Been off for 2 weeks now.. The first full day off that drug i had the worst case of the itchy scratches..lol the worst... so I got junked up on benardyl and it went away for good.. the study nurse said it usually happens while on the telaprevir but for not me.. i didnt really feel itchy on the study drug..   i have a minor rash still on my leg from the riba.. The interferon doesn't do much to me its the riba that kicks my a$$ sometimes.... I did shot 15 today.. Feel good.. sometimes i feel like im not on Tx.. it scares me i hope the treatment is working still...

If some of you dont know im in the Telaprevir No Placebo trial.. so i did get the real drug.. My starting VL was 5 million i was UND at week 2.. I haven't got a PCR since then.. I have no more insureance, no job, no money LOL so i cant get the PCR anytime soon... i think im gonna wait tell the study trial unblinds everything... i have a good feeling that im not going the full 48 and just 24 weeks but if they say i have to do the 48 weeks put me in coach... just more time to take down the dragon...

Sorry i have not kept you posted... i miss reading the forum and learning about this ****** disease...

Thank you all have a good day..

Glad to hear from you.  I can't believe you are already at week 15....seems like just yesterday you started....to me, probably not to you, lol!!

I do #39 tomorrow and still having light sx....still UND, so the meds do work...sx or not.

Great attitude, bro....it will serve you well =)

Thanks for keeping us updated.

Take care,

Isobella

Glad to hear from you and your doing ok .  Like you, am feeling so much better after stopping the Telaprevir.  First 10 days off were very rough though.  Having light sides now, mainly fever every night and some eye pain, but after what I've been through  it easy to tolerate.  Almost feeling normal now.

No rash for me since they reduced the Riba to 600 so I don't miss the rash at all.  Did you have to do a Riba reduction?  I just did shot 15 Monday so were right there together. Hopefully we have 9 left.  I'm praying for that.

So sorry to hear about your job loss  Hopefully you will find a job soon as it does make life easier..  Its rough out there.  2 weeks after starting tx my husband got laid off.  If Chrysler doesn't merge with Fiat and General Motors goes bankrupt --its not looking good for us either, as he is an mechanical engineer in Detroit.  Worse place to be now and we may be forced to move.

Do you know if your uric acid ever went down?  Mine is still real high.

Take care and stay in touch when you can.

Congratulations. It's great to hear from you and thanks for updating us.

Between vRVR (at two weeks) and light side effects, it looks like clear sailing.

Some people have few if any side effects during tx. It has no connection to SVR. I can think of another young fellow on this board who is doing exceptionally well and is almost finished his 24 weeks.

RVR trumps every other factor when it comes to SVR and you have very RVR.

By the way, I never did resolve my heart palpitations, even though I was able to control my BP with the ace inhibitors. Beta blockers are used for arrhythmias and palpitations and I wish I'd taken them during tx.
