For seven year I have a odor of ammonia and whatever food l have eaten, this odor has cause me to become recluse I only out of my home if necessary.  I have had ultrasounds, ct scan MRI, various bloods test, urine test,  and everything except Hep C, was negative.  I have Hep C, only!  Is there anything I can do to get rid of this horrible odor.  Please help me.  I would love to have a day without people holding nose when I co e around.  I am at a dead end, and depression has taking over.

A couple of years ago, I was having a terrible problem with odor -- ammonia and just kind of a dead smell was oozing out of my pores. It really was terrible and even though I showered all the time the smell was still there. Finally, I came to realize it was Tramadol causing the odor because when I quit taking them, the odor went away.

I've also heard others talk about body odor and sometimes it can come from drinking alcohol if you have cirrhosis. My guess is that other meds can cause body odors because having cirrhosis can mean the meds are backing up in your system. It's possible it is something more serious so it is probably a good idea to talk to your doctor.

This could be due to small intestine bacterial overgrowth. You should talk to your doc about this and have him prescribe a course of antibiotics.

Welcome to the forum.  I have never heard of anyone with HepC having an odor of any kind whatsoever.  When you go see your doctor does he or she smell it too?  When you go see your doctor again, ask them if they smell something on you.  I can guarantee you it's not the HepC that makes you smell.
