I had indigestion a lot before and during tx. It does make senses that a liver disease would mess up the digestive tract since the liver makes lots of enzymes and other things involved with digesting food. Prilosec worked really well for me. BTW, now that I'm done with tx, the indigestion rarely comes back.

When I was given a script for Prilosec / Nexium, I looked into it and decided to try to find other ways of dealing w/, what was for me, minor heartburn.  Because these meds reduce stomach acid this can lower the uptake of calcuim and some other nutrients.  While I don't recall precisely right now, I recall that it did block the uptake of an important nutrient that helps prevent certain depressions.  So, knowing that, I took the approach of making sure I always had some food handy to eat and that has helped quite a lot.  If I had full blown acid reflux disease I would have chosen to take the Prilosec.  Good luck.

Not sure if HCV causes Acid reflux...but as Fret says..there sure are a bunch of us that have it...I take a PPI for it (Nexium) and it seems to keep it in check.

Good luck

I believe it could be a side affect of HepC but I don't know of any studies.  I've brought up this same question before cause I have the dreaded acid reflux as well.  So do many other's on this forum.  You may want to get a prescription for it.  just my 2 cnts.
