Indiana, good to see your wacky humor again!
Myrtles, during my Walmart jaunt, I ck'd the Aveeno anti itch cream and it is a tad expensive, around $5 a tube. I think the main ingredient in it is 1% hydrocortisone cream, and if so you can buy the store brand of that stuff for a lot cheaper. I have my doc order some cream like it through the mail order pharm and got a bunch (like 6 tubes) for only $5, what a DEAL!!
But I still itch, it does help though. I am sure that elidel cream is costly, as it is relatively new I think. I'm a big cheapsake lol, but I am sure most of us are worried about the costs of tx. Hey tonite is the chat room get together, I think we should have it Fri nite too around 6PM Mtn time, 8 eastern, maybe hmmmmm? usually I try to spend time with the family from 6-9PM mtn time...so I miss the chat time. But Fri the hubby has a meeting to go to, so I could chat then, any takers/talkers??? hugs, OHC
Ok....OK....No cows or Badgers.
How about Woodpeckers then! They're small, don't **** a lot, and will fit easily into my suitcase. He does make a lot of noise though. If I didn't blow all the feathers off of him at my 4th of July "accident" I figure it would make a good peace offering..........
How are ya doin anyways? Takin your "kidstoned" vitamins? Hahahahahaha
For almost eveyone I know including myself, the anxiety before TX was much worse than the actual tx. Prepare for the worst and you will be pleasantly surprised. As a triathlete you must have a ton of mental and physical dicipline and that will get you through this. I worked out hard at least 5 usually 6 days per week during tx and the only thing that went by the wayside after week 12 was my running. Not because of my blood work but mainly I was just to run down and uninspired to push in that way.
Keep in mind that TX is a temporary situation and should be the absolute main focus of your life right now. You will back on track a few months of completing it so don't allow yourself to get broken down physically during TX. A simple cold virus during TX can escalate so take it easy on the heavy running, cycling and swimming would be my suggestion.
If you are built like most triathletes that I know, you're going to have to be careful not to lose too much weight because I suspect you don't have much to lose. Drink lots of water and force yourself to eat whether you want to or not. Also, think about adding some supplements like vitamin bcomplex, maybe e and more C than you usually take. Check with your doctor before doing that. Good luck. Travis
How I love last shot(and Riba) stories. I share your relief.
OH HELL YEAH! I KNEW YOU 2 WERE GONNA MAKE IT! WHAT A GREAT WAY TO END MY DAY TODAY. I TOLD THE COWS THEY WOULD GET A PASS FOR QUACK BUT I NEVER SAID ANYTHING ABOUT YOU 2 GALS. I'M GOIN OUT THERE NOW KATHY.
6 months is the biggest key test we have. Those odds go WAY up if we can stay clear to that point. Well up into the 90's. Kathy...I'm SOooo happy for you. I know how you worried about it. I kinda did too. 1 more test for us and this will all be over. What a year we all had, eh? I couldn't have asked for a better group of people to go through this with. We should all take a cruise or something. I'll bring the Badger.
Now go out and celebrate. You deserve it.
Congratulations to you LI Girl! Just to let everyone know, my Dr. told me today that since I am SVR at 6 months, I now have a 95%+ chance of staying that way for the rest of my life. I had no idea the odds were THAT good! Thanks for all your kind responses - I really don't know what I would have done without this site before, during and after treatment. I thank you all from the bottom of my heart!
Kathy
