My nurse called me today about a trial to screen for...Danoprevir with ritonavir..has a 50k viral load minmum to get in..been 6 months since last screening which i failed  getting in due to only VL only being 7 k...actually its been 7 k the last three screenings arrrg...missed the BOC trial by 3 k  ugh..maybe the monsters have been partying since then...question is do i go for it or do i wait for Teleprevir? hate to do the trial and not work and get a resistance to the protease drugs and can't do Teleprevir....any thoughts  from the gurus on here are appreciated...thanks

Unusual that you're in such a hurry to tx, but if you're really that determined then by all means just go for the SOC.  I would wait, tx is not easy to anyone, ever.  Of course that's my opinion, everyone gets some degree of sx's, some worse than others.  good luck!!

thanks for your reply buddy...i prolly should wait but  just ready to get this monster gone..being a stage 1 grade 2  i shouldn't get in any hurry...your right there's not much about Danoprevir as far as SVR and if i do it and it suks i'm screwed for the Boc or Teleprevir to work in the future...got to be a reason Roche bought it for 175 million though but the results are not there to justify it yet....patience is hard to wait but prolly the smartest move...i might just do SOC and see how i respond after 4 weeks and if not undetectable quit and go to waiting...my body is already fighting this thing hard cuz i feel like crap alot and VL keeps staying real low...thanks

I just read an article about Danoprevir and although it looks promising, the drug just finished a phase I clinical trial and nobody has been cured (SVR) by it yet.  Boceprevir on the other hand is in phase III clinical trials and has had many ppl who have reached an SVR.  I'd go with the Boceprevir!   Incidentally Roche just bought  Danoprevir so we may hear more about it at a later date.  Here's a link or two, good luck!
