will Lansoprazole (prevacid) create any absorption issues with tx meds

Hi,
I'm about to start tx with Interferon, Riba and boceprevir. I just started taking 30 mg of Lansoprazole a day for gerd. Does anyone know if the Prevacid (lansoprozole) prevents absorption of the the drugs. I asked my GI doctor and he said he didn't think there were issues of that sort, but he wasn't sure.
appreciate any advice! Thanks

Thanks everyone. The gerd has not felt that bad, but I have a small non-malignant esophageal ulcer detected in a recent upper endoscopy so doc wants me to take it for a while. I appreciate the help.

I was going to tell you that Cando took something like that during tx and SVR'ed but, but, but..... I wasn't sure he'd want me to spill the beans. Glad he popped in himself  to help out. Experienced guy, he is.

This gerd stuff is a problem that's hard to understand unless you go through it yourself. I'd sure want to take care of it before starting tx if I could, in case it makes you more miserable than you need to be.

Here's an old thread about it:

Prevacid is a Proton pump inhibitor so there will be no problem taking it. I was on that and prilosec during both of my tx. The last one was with boceprevir and i'm svr.. Thats what my hepatologist ordered. Good luck to you.
