I forgot to comment on your question about timing. The bump probably started too soon, which should be further reassuring. Two days is about the earliest possible; mostly it's 3-5 days.
The chance of catching oral herpes from this sort of exposure is extremely low. And an initial herpes infection would usually be a lot more severe then a single "bump" on the lip. If you develop more bumps that become blisters, painful sores, etc, see a doctor or clinic. Without such symtoms, I see no reason to worry at all about herpes.
