First of all lets keep the langague even if using abbreviations down to none. No need for it.
Visual diagnosis is wrong about 1/3 of the time. Women can have other things going on down there that may cause bumps too. You and your partner should be tested with an Herpes igg blood test to know who has what. Though your partner and you results if negative would only show your status up to this point. If either of you have had another partner in the last 3 months then the testing wouldn't be accurate.
Your partner needs to be checked for abdominal pains though.
I also had a papsmear but i was on my menstruation at the time so it made things less easier to see. I couldn't imagine them doing a herpes test and getting a result in such little time that we were there. No testing was done on her for herpes but the scabs and scars in and on her genitalia from her previous symptoms led them to believe that she has herpes. So I don't know what kind, but all I know is that there was my mouth to her genitalia contact and I didn't receive. Then the other night she said that she was experiencing abdominal pains and vaginal bleeding. So in essence, i'm like WTF?
They didn't do herpes testing because I believe they wanted to see if I would produce an outbreak of some sort first. She just told me to come back the following week (which i had planned to do anyway) and to let her know if I experienced any itching or burning. I would love to go right now but I am snowed in and streets are closed and they were closed today.
just because a partner has herpes, doesn't mean you contracted it from her.
what herpes testing have you had done?
did your partner get diagnosed as having hsv1 or hsv2? do you know what testing she had done? did she have obvious symptoms?
did you have your anal area looked at?
