boils are caused by bacterial infections. make sure if you are still having recurrences that you get them tested to make sure you don't have a MRSA infection causing them.
You can have genital herpes be triggered to reoccur from a bacterial infection. odds are you were never tested for herpes before this.
do you have a regular partner?
was your herpes culture + for hsv1 or hsv2?

she did swab the herpe and did a blood test as well and everything came back positive for herpes.
Did your doctor swab any of the sores/boils that you had? Herpes can look like blisters, boils, cuts, raw spots...from what I've learned visual diagnosis isn't reliable, you'll want your doctor to swab the lesions when they are new, that way she can test for the virus. Sounds like your doctor was playing it safe by giving you Valtrex, but you want to get tested to avoid taking a medication you really might not need.
General practitioners or gynecologist would be able to do that for you...personally, I have always gone to my gyn for issues related to STDs.
