Aldi store has low sodium bread which is yummy. Called Simply Nature. Is in a blue bag with red letters.Sprouted 7 grain. Is 70 mg sodium for one slice and 60 calories. Get a couple cuz they are sometimes out. Also Walmart has bread too. Forget the name. I think its called Fiber One. Very low on sodium. Get a couple and freeze one. I never can eat tuna or sardines cuz too high in sodium. At chinese restarant i tell em no salt/no sauce. I use sweet duk sauce to flavor. Works good. I also use a tiny amount of Celtic pink salt. I eat mostly from scratch. No can, no box, no frozen. Altho for can corn or beans i soak in a bowl of water to get salt out and then strain. Works good.
Well foods to avoid are snacks like crisps, some fizzy drinks and processed meals and packets of ready meals, sauces and soups. Avoid using salt as a table condiment or in cooking of food. What are your numbers like? What meds do you take for it? .
Fish, lean meat like chicken and fruit and vegetables are good. I know there are people out there with certain foods and remedies that they claim lower BP (And others advertise them on TV) but i am unsure of their worth and effectiveness. I think if your cautious and sensible, its a good start.
Do you smoke? Or consume much alcohol? or do you walk a few times a week? These are the usual doctor questions to begin with for hypertension patients.
Have you had any other investigations for causes of BP? You should also get a 24 ABPM test done. Its important and is non invasive and costs little. It will give you a good 24 hour average of your BP numbers
