Well, I hope it goes away. Be sure not to drink alcohol (if you do) when you take the pills since it is hard on the liver. Drink lots of water (8 glasses a day)
I wonder if you are transferring it from your partner. You might ask the doctor about that and whether that person should be treated or not as well. Since you haven't had it that long I wouldn't worry about it. But I would try to get rid of the yeast infection.

I did two swabs. Its is showing up as a heavy yeast infection with hyphae and spores. The doctor told me that its just a fancy description for yeast and take 3 micocyst tabs for 3 days but I haven't taken them yet because I tend to feel sick wit them. I have taken them before also as well as diflucan and was worried about liver damage. She did say the antibiotics I was on for the bacteria was some really powerful stuff and that it may be causing this heavy yeast growth but she was surprised that it keeps coming back even after the creams I used. I didn't think yeast was anything serious which was why I didn't ask the doctor at the time.
We are not doctors are here but I can give you some advice. You may have a strain of yeast that is resistant to the antifungal creams. It may not even be yeast. Some things mimic yeast. You should have a swab taken to determine the type and see if it is one that is highly resistant. In the meantime try one that doesn't have fluconazole or diflucan as the yeast (Candida albicans) that most causes a vaginal infection is often resistant to this antifungal. Terbinafin is a good ingredient if there is one without azole at the end. Obviously, it is not good to have a persistant infection as it is not only irritating but may lower your immune system and if you got a break in the skin where you bleed it could potentially get into the blood stream (which would be dangerous). Although, this is not likely it is best to rid your self of the infection.
Some of the more rare side effects of untreated yeast infections are headaches, mood swings, mouth problems such as sores and blisters, fatigue and gastrointestinal difficulties.
