Glad to hear you are doing better. I hope the fluid stays out of your knee. Also, happy the culture was negative. Fluid on the knee really hurts badly. Although, sometimes it will go away on its own but it takes months. So, since you could tolerate it it is good you got it removed.
thanks for the update.

Did you get MRSA on your arm from the hospital when you had your surgery? I think the pain in the knee is probably from the surgery rather than MRSA. They won't know unless they culture it. Do you know if the ER did a culture on the knee fluid? Is the antibiotic you are on not working for the cellulitis MRSA? Cellulitis takes a while to clear up as it can be deep in the tissues. If the treatment they giving your for your cellulitis is working then if you did have it in the knee it would be working on that too. What antibiotic are they giving you? If it is a topical for the cellulitis you may need oral or even IV. Call the doctor that is taking the other ortho's place and ask to be seen. You can ask to talk to the nurse and go from there. Make sure you tell them you went to the ER for severe pain in the knee and give them your results. Ask them if the ER did a culture on the knee fluid.
