High AST and ALT

I just received a phone call saying that my AST was 86 and ALT-118. I know this is pretty high. I'm 25 yrs old, 5'10, and weigh 190 pounds. I don't drink alcohol. I'm just wondering what could cause this. Should I be worried? I have no other symptoms. I fear that my fast food days have caught up with me. I would say that I'm grossly over weight, but I could stand to lose a few pounds. Do you think that is my problem? Thanks.

What was the cause of your AST and Alt to be so high, what other test can they do to check for hep A,B,C,  My daughter has patchy liver calcification, 24 yrs now,  found in 2012, due to other stomach issues like IBS from CT. previous ultrasound 2010 was normal nothing detected, did MRI after inding PLC that came clear, she had lower stomach pains on left side gave Ibuforen and panadol and that resolved the problem but the blood test noted AST 50, ALT40, and moderate blood in urine, also they did FBC, Lipase, CRP/UEs/rest of lft normal, now they organized an Ultra sound, I am forever having something wrong , I catch everything that goes around, In the last month or so I have ben taking slims hakes about 1 daily and also have started dancing /acrobats about 3 times a week , work full time, could this have been the cause, any information appreciated, or what test do you have to do to check for hep.  God Bess you all

You should have a hepatitus panel for hep A, B and C - just to rule that out. Elevated enzymes aren't always from hepatitus, but IMO INSIST on getting the panel. Some doctors for whatever reason don't always check people for hepatitus if you don't fall into what they "think" a person with hepatitus should look like. I have hepC, but if I didn't insist on getting the test when I saw that my enzymes were elevated, I wouldn't have known I have hep C.

Good luck and I hope to hear that you are negative.
