elevated liver enzymes with upper abdominal pain

My daughter has had severe bouts of upper abdominal pain. They found gall stones and the gallbladder was removed but that did not resolve the issue. On her last hospitalizations she had numerous blood work scans and ultrasounds all coming back normal with the exception of extremely high liver enzymes around 1600 which would return to normal within 24 hours normally. She has seen numerous specialists and they are all stumped. Pancreas was found to be normal. Any ideas?

Hi I am sorry to hear of your troubles.  I am sorry that no one has answered yet.  I am not a doctor but have to ask.

Has your daughter been tested for Hepatitis?

Have they said anything about a fatty liver?

Have they done a biopsy?

From what I have read on here high enzymes are an indication that the liver is inflamed, irritated.

Is she on any medication that might be causing this?  There are times you have to be your on advocate and look up each medicine to make sure it is safe for your body.

I wish I had an answer.

Please let me know what you find out, Good luck to you and your daughter
