Nick, I'm no Dr. Just a very curious and marginally well read "liver patient" so the best answer would come from a Hepatologist or a Radiologist.

I would take it to mean a structure that is inconsistently uniform, i/e pockets of something other than healthy liver - i dont know if that would include fat deposits, a tumor, or just what...

Has your dr ordered additional labs and maybe a biopsy? any underlying hepatitis???
