post op circumcision healing?

8 days since i got operated .stil thers burning sensation.is it normal?was told that all pain will be gone aftr 2 days.suture sites hurt a lot .whole penis is still sore.have been taking antibiotics and painkillers .still continuing with pain killers.intolerable pain when gauze threads get stuck in suture spikes.i thought suture sites should be rather painfree by now,but burning sensatio and pain stil remains
no swelling ,no redness ,rather clean, doesnot look infected, contacted my doc,he said its normal.

8 days too long for suture sites to be painful and sore.

11th day and the burning sensation s gone.tried your suggestion .worked out well for me.waiting for all the sutures to fall off.hopefully the bumps in between the suture too reduce after the sutures are gone.right now penis looks disfigured but as you said things will get better .
and ,next time i have muscle tear i will try that frozen pea technique of yours.thnx

Good luck.  You can wring out a clean cotton cloth in water and put it in the freezer, then shake it out and use it, it would be cold and soothing, I think.  When my husband was running marathons and would get muscle tears, he would use a sack of frozen peas wrapped in a t-shirt as a flexible cold-pack.

Tell that to a woman who has had a Caesarean section.  lol  The skin incisions (not the interior ones) can hurt for a long time.

I saw the title of your post and thought, "only 8 days and it is just burning?  He is doing pretty well."  I always pay attention to circumcision posts because my son is not circumcised, and I have my eye out for anything that suggests we made a wrong decision for him.  In the circumcision arguments on this site, women write in all kinds of horror stories about adults getting the operation, how horribly painful it is, how many months it takes to heal, etc.  I have always wondered how exaggerated they are.

Have you tried cold compresses?  Does the doctor say how long to expect this?  If he says you're doing normally, I'd believe him.
