eye problem

i had my eye check up yesterday due to weeks of eye pain..merely in my eyelids connected to my eye through my head. the opthalmologist said that my eye veins were all fine, no symptoms of sinus, a good 20/20 vision. so im just confused why my eye is in pain everytime i have my headache. is there any other problem if the doctor said that my eye is definitely ok? is it all about migraine or what?

You'll need to describe the following to help with suggestions about other causes:

1) How does the pain feel?  Burning?  Stabbing?   Aching?  Throbbing?
2) What is the intensity of the pain?
3) How long to attacks last, how many per day, and at what times?

its a year since i havent open this forum. about the eye pain? your questions..  it feels terrible that i cant barely sleep. and if i do, i dont want to open my eyes on those moments for it gives me much pain in my eyes. and if im fighting the pain and i dont want to sleep, my eyelids feels heavier and painful. it usually lasts for 2 days. twice a month im suffering from this eye pain.

could you possibly think what can trigger this kind of eye pain? or what i mean, is this just a typical problem or what? thanks..

Hi,
How are you? What tests were done in the past? It is good to know that you were able to see your eye doctor and you were cleared from any eye issues. If imaging studies were normal, primary headaches such as cluster headaches may also be a differential. This type of headache usually presents with pain in the eye along with tearing, nose congestion, and flushing of face. The pain frequently develops during sleep and the attacks occur every day for weeks and even months then disappear. Alcoholic beverages and smoking may be contributory. If it persists, you may need to be referred to a neurologist for proper evaluation. A headache journal may also help. Take care and do keep us posted.

i just had an severe headache the other day. the test ive done before was the normal procedure - for the 20/20 vision. yeah, the doctor i consulted before even told me to seek help from neurologists as well.. cause he asked me several questions and it didnt resulted for the signs of sinusitis. its all cleared for sinus. im worrying much why would i seek for a neurologist. is there might be serious problems?

anyway, i may ask. if its not sinus, what could be the possible problems im suffering. headache that leads to the eye through my neck. stress?

thank you so much for answering and helping me solve my eye issues. thanks and will be looking forward for further answers from u... God Bless..

Hi,
Thanks for the updates. You may indeed benefit from an evaluation by a neurologist to rule out neurological issues such as primary headaches. This does not necessarily mean that it is a serious matter but to determine if the underlying cause is neurological in nature. As mentioned above, one condition that comes to mind is a cluster headache which presents with pain in the eye along with tearing, nose congestion, and flushing of face. Stress can also be contributory. Try to identify the possible triggers of the eye pain so you can avoid them also. Rest and relaxation techniques such as stress management, meditation may also help. Take care and regards.

Hi,

I'm not a doctor, but I do suffer from near daily migraines. I sometimes have eye pain along with a migraine, and it can get quite severe.

I would also suggest seeing a Neurologist for an evaluation. Neurologists are specialists in headaches and can offer much advise and relief.

Good luck and keep is posted. Nancy

Hi,

Yes, I've talked to my Neuro about the eye pain. It's all connected to my migraines.

I'm doing better since having Botox injection in August. I'm to have the second series of Botox injections Nov. 3. My doc says that the shots build upon each other, so the relief should be greater after each succeeding round.

I hope you continue to do better.  Nancy

Good to hear that you're undergoing certain procedures to lessen or maybe get rid of these headaches and eye pains you're feeling.

Thank you, Nancy. You too, wish u get better as well after those shots.
