my husband has had fibromyalgia for 29 years, in the last 3 months he has bad headaches on the top of his headache. They never go away. We have had mri, scan etc. was hoping someone knew if fibro causes headaches.
Hi,
How are you? What other symptoms are present?Fibromyalgia presents with a long-term, body-wide pain and tenderness in the joints, muscles, tendons, and other soft tissues. Headaches on top of the head may be caused by a variety of issues including trauma, primary headaches such as migraine or tension headaches, and other neurological conditions. Diagnosis of fibromyalgia, involves at least 3 months of widespread pain, and pain and tenderness in at least 11 of 18 areas (arms, buttocks, chest, knees, lower back, neck, rib cage, shoulders, thighs, etc). If the only symptom is headache, further evaluation may need to be done. It is best that you check with your doctor for proper evaluation. imaging studies may also be done. Take care and do keep us posted.
