Hi,
How are you? Was there previous trauma to your head or neck? Another differential include cluster headaches which present with pain in vicinity of eye that frequently develops during sleep and may last for several hours. Attacks occur every day for month, then disappear for up to a year. Also, avoid smoking or alcohol intake since this can also trigger attacks. If your medication is not working, talk to your doctor about this. Avoid possible headache triggers also. Check with your doctor for proper evaluation. Take care and do keep us posted.
I'd suggest a different doctor. Try to find a headache clinic or neurologist specializing in headache. Pain can come from your eyes, or sinus, or neck too. If it is migraine, an expert needs to try you on different meds. CT scans can usually rule out aneurism, which is critical to rule out. Don't accept this yet. There should be remedies for you once you know more. There are lots of meds for migraine and some will work better for you than others.
