Daily headaches/migranes for 2 years still no idea.

Hi, I started the gym 2 years a go on a basic exercise program and got on fine for about a month till they changed it to alot of core stability exercises and upper body work, 2 days in i got a sharp pain in between my sholder blades on the right hand side followed by a headache. Since then i have had nothing but problems. After seeing a osteopath privatley for some massage and minipulation still having headaches and back pain so told to see a doctor who refered me to local hospital. 2 years on i am signed off work, with constant neck and back pain which gives me serve headaches and migranes on a daily basis, it is wrecking my life, i cant do anything, and when i try to carry as normal a headache accures that turns in to a migrane and im laid up 4 days, i have kept a diary off the headaches and there doesnt seem to be any kind of pattern, i have blood tests, accupunture, phsyo, more osteopath treatment, anti-inflammtorys,anti depresents in a low dosage, trigger point injections in my back, nerve blockers in my neck, x rays and a MRI all that found was some early signs of arthritis in my c1 to c7 (from what i can remember). ive been told isnt enough to cause my symptoms.oh and a slight curve, i have had enough im a 26 year old with no life and dont see ever getting a diognosise or treatment. the stress of it makes it worse. the headaches start in the base of my skull and feels like tension and heat helps, they are normally on one side or the other depending on what side of my neck is sore at the time. pressure on the top of my neck helps the headache but just gets worse when pressure is stopped. The migranes come with vomiting and sensitivity to light. Im on pain killers co-codamols and tramadols neither of which take away the hadaches, with bed rest they go in there own time. im on a waiting list to see a neurologist but ive lost hope, any ideas on what im suffering with and what i can do to hep? i would be greatful for any advise.

Good Morning

Thanks for your reply.

No tests were really done at the onset of this condition apart from bloods they first started to treat me for poor core stability.

The condition has got worse since the start, and its only now that i know what i can and cant do, and even then i still suffer with them on a regular basis.
I was treated for occipital neuralgia with nerve blockers but they ruled it out as the injections aggravated it and i had a constant headache for 2 weeks.

Ive never had any eye redness or rashes but i do get a fever and sweats with the migranes.

I still have another 3 week wait for the neurologist and ive been waiting since feb, so i was just hoping some one some where might be going through the same thing and know what i have and how to treat it, im willing try any anything.

I want to train to be personal trainer and untill i know what i have and if it can be treated i dont know if all it will ever be is a dream. no ones given me any idea on whether this is a life long illness or if it can be treated but im starting to lose hope.

My life is on hold, and the doctors seem more concerned with treating the headaches and not the cause. even if the headaches were under control i still get neck and back pain but they dont seem to see that as a problem.

Hi,

I understand your frustration. I know it has been hard for you. Headaches are one of the more complex conditions to plague physician's and patients alike. In your case. the strenuous activities appear to have caused your symptoms. Straining and high impact exercises may increase blood flow within the brain and may also put a strain to the spine.

Differentials for your case will be an occipital neuralgia, cervicogenic headaches, and migraine headaches. Pursue your consult with the neurologist so that a complete neurologic examination be done. A baseline cranial CT Scan may also done to rule out any involvement of underlying structures?

Were any tests done at the onset of the symptoms?

Have you had any fever, rash and eye redness associated with the headaches?
